Gillingham Anchorians 1st xi 1 Canterbury 1.

Anchs welcomed a very strong Canterbury side for the last league game of 2016 and walked away with a very hard fought point which should prove as a good stepping stone for 2017. A good warm up and team talk set Anchs up well and despite the opposition having a lot of possession in the first half Anchs kept their shape and made life difficult for the oppositon. Throughout the whole game Canterbury were left frustrated due to outstanding goalkeeping from Darren Richardson who made a number of world class saves, most notably hooking a certain goal away with this glove in the first half. Both goals in the games came from penalty corners with Canterbury taking the lead in the last play of the first half and Mati Puche thunder bolting an equaliser in the second half.
